FilmCraft Online Video Editor

Open the pinned FilmCraft Web editor to import, trim and reorder clips, adjust audio gain and export MP4. Check local codec headers and review tested browser limits.

Open the real FilmCraft Web editor

Launch the pinned official FilmCraft 0.8.0 Web build in a separate tab, hosted independently by FreeKitBox. Import clips, trim and reorder linked video/audio, adjust audio gain and export MP4 locally. The lightweight page does not load the editor until launch. Open FilmCraft editor · Official release and desktop downloads.

First launch downloads about 13.5 MB. Use a current desktop browser with WebGL2, gzip decompression, keyboard and mouse. The observed WebGL2 path uses a CPU compositor and cooperative single-threaded jobs; no real-time playback, long-form speed or universal codec guarantee is made.

Check local codec headers

Choose MP4/MOV or Matroska/WebM to inspect its sample-entry/CodecID metadata without uploading or saving the file. MP4 movie metadata is bounded at 8 MiB; Matroska scans the first 2 MiB and media payloads are skipped. Header tags do not validate bitstreams, profiles, encryption, duration or full file health.

Our original H.264/MPEG-4-audio MP4 test succeeded. MPEG-4 Part 2 (mp4v) and FFV1 (V_FFV1) imported metadata but returned unreadable in this build; the checker names those observed failures and suggests a verified H.264/AAC MP4 copy. Other combinations remain unknown, not silently declared compatible. mp4a alone is not a complete AAC/profile validation. Copy/download a local format report; it contains header observations, not media bytes.

Two-clip workflow and tested result

  1. Import your own clips and create a sequence from a clip or File → New → Sequence.
  2. Trim in/out edges with linked audio, reorder clips and inspect gaps.
  3. Adjust Clip → Audio Options → Audio Gain; click inside the editor and permit browser audio before playback.
  4. Choose Export with H.264/AAC and an MP4 destination, then inspect the downloaded file.

Reviewed 2026-10-18: two original 320×180/25fps H.264/AAC clips were trimmed and reordered, with one audio clip reduced about 6 dB. A real 125-frame MP4 download was independently decoded: five flash/tone markers aligned, and reduced amplitude was about half. This is one short desktop Chromium test, not a promise about all media or hardware.

Storage, license and sources

The checker stores no selected media. The separate editor can save recovery projects and media in browser OPFS; they can persist after closing the tab. Export a copy before clearing browser storage. No account or server upload is needed. The upstream project remains independently attributed; FreeKitBox is not the official ArtCraft or Adobe site.
